Stanley Dintcho, DDS
When you come to Union Street Dental Care for regular, scheduled treatment, or emergency service, you will be treated personally by Dr. Dintcho.Dr. Stanley Dintcho graduated from Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, PA, in 1970. Upon graduation, Dr. Dintcho answered the call to duty and served in the US military as Captain in the US Air Force.
In 1972, he returned to civilian life and opened the doors to his dental practice, where he continues to utilize state-of-the-art technology and revolutionary treatment methods in dentistry.
Dr. Dintcho’s unique, personable style of quality-packed consultative dentistry known as the Dintcho Method has created a very loyal clientele. Dr. Dintcho continues to pursue his greatest passion: dentistry.
Eric Shapira, DDS, MA, MHA
Dr. Eric Shapira is a graduate of Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia. In 1976 he completed a general practice residency in dentistry and internship in medicine at Mt. Zion Hospital in San Francisco. Dr. Shapira was an assistant clinical professor at the University of the Pacific (UOP) Arthur Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, where he developed courses in geriatric dentistry and worked with medically compromised individuals. He also developed courses in hospital dentistry at Laguna Honda Hospital in San Francisco.For almost 40 years, Dr. Shapira has been an active member in the American Dental Association, in which he is an Emeritus Life Member, and in the Academy of General Dentistry, in which he received the prestigious Mastership Award and was the only recipient in 2010 of the organization’s Humanitarian Award for his service to better mankind throughout the world through his clinical work and teaching.
Eric Shapira practiced dentistry for over 30 years on the Half Moon Bay Coastside. He received his master’s degree in clinical gerontology from Notre Dame de Namur University. He is an educator and has taught courses in “Healthy Aging” and “Successful Aging,” as well as courses in “Geriatric Esthetic Dentistry and Special Patient Care.”
Dr. Shapira holds an MHA (Master of Health Administration) from the University of Phoenix. He is a past Board member of the American Association of Senior Peer Counselors, a member of the American Society on Aging, a Bilingual Senior Peer Counselor for the San Mateo County Department of Mental Health, and a former commissioner on the San Mateo County Commission on Aging.
In 2014, Dr. Shapira was awarded China’s Humanitarian Award, the highest award that China gives for humanitarian service.
Dr. Shapira is a Professor of Geriatric Medicine, a Clinical Gerontologist/Aging Specialist, Certified Hypnotherapist, Author, Consultant and Lecturer. He is a caring, involved clinician with extensive knowledge in the aging field. His personal motto is: “No one cares how much you know, until they know how much you care.” In 2008, Dr. Shapira was awarded the title of Visiting Professor of Geriatric Medicine, Nursing and Dentistry by People’s Hospital #2 and the Government of China for his volunteer teaching efforts and work there.
Desmond Brian Ng, DDS
Dr. Desmond Brian Ng, DDS is a San Francisco native dentist who grew up in the Haight-Ashbury/Cole Valley district. After completing his degree in Biochemistry at the University of the Pacific, he obtained his teaching education background at the University of California, Berkeley. After many years, he left teaching to pursue his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.
Dr. Ng is dedicated to being a lifelong learner and always looking for ways to be the best dentist he can be. He has advanced training in orthodontics, laser periodontal surgery, whitening, cosmetic dentistry, and implant placement and restorative dentistry. Recently, Dr. Ng has started training to become a provider in sleep and airway medicine. He is gentle, kind, caring, and always does the best to provide the best quality dentistry he can. He focuses on making the patient feel comfortable, educating them about their oral health, and providing the best treatment options for them. In addition to practicing dentistry, Dr. Ng is a member of the California Dental Association, American Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, San Francisco Dental Society, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
In his free time, Dr. Ng enjoys spending time with his wife and 2-year-old Pomeranian, Bingsoo, traveling the world, photography, discovering the best new foodie spots, and supporting the 49ers, Warriors, Sharks and San Francisco Giants. His love for his hometown runs deep and can be seen in both his personal and professional lives.
